I sold my soul to Arnold clark for my new fiat 500, I fell in love with this car instantly. My car is white with custom white and red leather seats absolutely stunning inside and because of the stunningly white leather I decided to get some car seat protectors for my messy little girls.
I cant stop my kids eating in the car as we spend so much time travelling and it wouldn't be fair, granted I give less messy snacks in the car mucky foot prints also have appeared all over my car seats in the past.
I bought the prince lionheart seat protector because they were the only ones mothercare had in stock at the time.
I bought two one each for the girls. They cost £19.99.
Prince lionheart 2 stage seat protectors can be bought online from around £17.00 from Amazon uk , John lewis and kiddiecare.
Prince lionheart 2 stage seat protectors comes in two colours black or tan, I chose the tan because it is lighter and blends in with my car seats.
The seat protectors can will most baby seats right through to booster seats and will fit most cars as the protectors are a universal fit.
We use the full protector as we have big girls car seats however the back of the protector comes of if using a from birth car seat.
These are simple to fit and just sit in the space of the normal car seat and you can then fit the baby seat on top of it. I can still use the seat belt and strap in the car seats as normal.
Prince lionheart 2 stage seat protectors and are made from slightly padded foam material with a rubber coating , great for cleaning as a damp cloth takes away any marks and dries quickly.
The protectors have a rim around the bottom to catch any spillages that may happen and yes we have has a few leaking drinks bottles and seemed to hold the liquid well.
The protectors sit from the head rest and come all the way down to the footwell covering the full car seat area.
These are really great things and I am so glad I bought them or id be cleaning my spotless leather seat everyday, would be super on material upholstery.
Easy to fit in seconds, protects the upholstery, can be used with all baby seats right up to boosters.
I highly recommend the Prince lionheart 2 stage seat protectors, worth investing to keep the car seats clean.
This is an excellent product that will protect your upholstery in your car and this was particularly relevant to me with my first born baby and a new car as well I wanted to try and protect the car as much as possible as it was not cheap and we wanted to ensure it stayed in a good condition.
The seat protector cost £19.99 and what I liked about it is the fact that it should last a long time as it is designed to work with all types of car seats from the ones suitable for new born babies right through to booster seats. This means that as long as it does not wear out or fall behind it could be a one time purchase. At the moment we are only using the bottom part as that is what is used for infant seats however as your baby gets bigger there is a back rest piece that attaches to the base piece to protect the whole seat from indentations and marks from having the child seat in position.
Ours is black in colour, I do not remember seeing alternative colours on sale at the time and it is basically made from padded foam to provide a layer of protection between the car seat and the child seat. It will also protect from spillages as there is a rim around the edges to retain any spills and it also has a front lip that is designed to protect your car seat from dirty shoes when they get older. It is easy to clean as the shiny coating just needs a wipe with a damp cloth or as I often use an antiseptic wipe.
This is a great product and while there will be more challenges for it in the future as my little one gets older based upon my early experiences of the way it protects the seats I'm confident it will do a good job of keeping my car seats looking like new.
I'm always slightly astounded by quite how much damage children can wreak in the back of a car. You would think, given the state of my living room even 15 minutes after tidying that I would be used to it, but no. I probably should ban all items of food, but hey ho sometimes they make it into the car along with muddy boots, sticks and toys I didn't know we had.
Enter this item, which, if you have children and a car, you probably need even if you have more control over the back seat than me.
This is called a 2 stage seat protector as it is designed to protect your upholstery from all car seats, from infant up to booster seat, and it comes in two parts. The item is a padded foam protector which protects your upholstery from pressure marks over time. You use the bottom pad only with infant seats, and then the back attaches for stage 2 and 3 seats.
This protector will fit any seat due to the way that is made, the edge curls over the seat as you can see in the picture, and you can use it with isofix and non isofix seats. There is a rim on the edge of the protector to trap liquids or bits, judging from the state of ours this it does well, and the end of the seat does also protect your upholstery from little muddy feet. The finish of the protector is wipe clean, which is also a good thing.
We have two of these in the car, I have to confess they were my husband's idea, I think bought in an attempt to protect the upholstery and encourage me to keep the car a bit tidier. We have used one for over 3 years, and though the car is no tidier, when we do take the seats out to use in another car the upholstery has not been damaged at all. In a previous car we had seats with no protectors and it did mark over time.
We paid a little under £20 at John Lewis, which is quite a lot, but given that we will use it for years still worth it. This item is available on amazon at £21.99.
The thing I could do most to protect my car would be to ban all children from it, but given that I can't do that this protector is the next best thing!
Protects car upholstery from depression damage caused by children's car seats. Kick plate prevents scuffmarks. Non-slip material keeps car seat secure.
