The interior of our old Volkswagon VW are cream which wasn't too bad when it was just my husband and I, in fact I think it looked quite stylish and lovely when taken care of but add a couple of kids with milk, food and muddy shoes etc and a dog, you get a very dirty cream car after a while.
One of the things we really noticed once my little girl moved into a forward facing car seat was that the back of our front seats were getting very dirty from her kicking the back of the seat. It was alright when she was in a backwards facing car seat as she had no way of kicking our seats but once she was the other way and old enough to be walking and getting muddy feet our seats were getting quite bad. I was able to move my drivers seat forward as she was behind me and she couldn't actually then touch the back of the seat but when my husband drives he needs the extra leg room so she is able to reach the back of his seat and of course like all little kids her favourite thing to do is kick the back of the seat to get our attention and then giggle about it.
You would have thought that during the summer your seats would be ok as little kids don't have muddy shoes but I also found that shoes get awfully dusty in the summer on all the dry mud so this was also getting the back of our seats quite muddy. You could also see on the back of the seats that over time, if we didn't do anything about this the material was going to start to bobble so we needed to do something to protect them.
Thats when we came across these plastic covers that fit over the back of your front seats. These are really simple products but a well thought out one (must have been someone with kids fed up of getting a dirty car) and ones that work really well for their intended purpose. The protectors are made of 100% thick vinyl and they really are quite a thick plastic which will never rip or tear no matter what you do to them. When we first put them in our car we did have a bit of a new plastic smell for a few days but after a while that smell goes away and you don't smell it anymore.
They are easy to attach to the seats in your car as they basically just slip over and then you buckle them up. The protectors then stay pretty well put and we have had no problems with them moving or falling off which is nice. As they are made of plastic all you really need to do to clean them is wipe them with a baby wipe (and we have plenty of these in supply in our car!) and they are as good as new.
They come in a pack of two and cost in the £10 region which I think is a really good price for this great product which really looks after your car. I do like the fact that they come in a pack of two as we have them on both seats now in anticipation of our little boy moving up to a big boy forward facing seat very soon in the next month or two.
