ELC Jingle Bells
Advantages: Bright, fun, durable, great price
When my daughter was born we got the usual free photo vouchers from Pixifoto, when we first took her for her free shoot she was only about 6 weeks old and so it was difficult to get her to look at the camera. The photographer used a couple of different bells to get her attention and she seemed to love them so whilst we were waiting to look at the photos they had taken we had a wander around the Early Learning Centre section and bought these and some hand bells for her.
The bells cost us £2.50 and now cost £3 so not too bad considering we are talking about 2 years ago, they are only available from the Early Learning Centre although I am sure you would pick up similar from other shops. The bells are supposed to be for ages 3 and up but we used them for our daughter to help progress her tracking and get her attention.
The bells comes in a variety of colours and we bought a set which has a bright red plastic handle with 3 yellow pieces of plastic at one end each of which is attached to a silver bell like you would get on a cats collar. The bells are on a nice thick handle so it is easy for little hands to grasp and my daughter was able to start shaking this around herself at about 6 months although she was always supervised as it would hurt if she hit her face with it.
My daughter really loved the bells and once she could laugh she would giggle for ages watching them and listening to them. My eldest daughter had problems with her tracking vision when she was a baby and we used these on our younger daughter to encourage her to follow them with her eyes which she could do without any problems. Now my children are older, 5 and 2, they still play with the bells and the bells are still in one piece with no damage at all, my elder daughter likes to ring the bells and sing her nursery rhymes along to them.
These are great value bells and are really sturdy and durable, they have provide plenty of play for my girls already and they still love them.
Summary: Great for my giggling baby
