LeapFrog LeapPad Backpack
Advantages: Strong, plenty of room, pretty colours
Disadvantages: Straps are a little too far apart
We were given a Leappad system and loads of books and cartridges by a friend of ours, the console was generally used by her son so the console is the green and blue one and a lot of the books are more boy orientated however the case that came with it is the pink one.
The bag is made of really strong material which is a good thing as the console plus books and cartridges can actually get pretty heavy.
The bag is a record style bag with a flap over however it isn't over the shoulder bag but has two straps on the back so it can be carried like a backpack. The back of the bag is lilac in colour and the straps which are adjustable with a plastic clip which moves up and down the strap are pale pink. There is a lilac handle on the top of the bag so that you can carry it by that although it is not very comfortable to carry like that due to the weight of it when full but it is useful when just putting the bag in the car. The flap of the bag is pale pink and has the Leapfrog logo on it in the usual green and white colours.
The bag has a far amount of storage, inside there is a main pocket which is a couple of inches wide so takes the console easily and you can manage to squeeze a couple of books in there with it too. On the front there is a large pocket which doesn't have any depth to it so only holds a couple of books and then on the front of this pocket there is a netted section in lilac which is sewn into sections for you to put the cartridges into, you can easily fit 8-12 cartridges inside.
The bag is really great, although we got ours free I have looked it up on Amazon and you can buy them used for about £4 which is a great price. The bag is really strong and holds plenty in it, the straps on the back are a little too far apart for a smaller child like my daughter so they don't sit on her shoulders properly but then she would never be expected to carry it anyway due to it being heavy when full although when empty it is really lightweight.
I would recommend this bag and think if you are going to have quite a few books and cartridges to go with the console then it's great for keeping them all together even if you don't actually take it out anywhere.
Summary: A great storage system
