      Protect your LeapPad

My daughter had a LeapPad off Santa for Christmas. Initially I bought her the gel skin t cover the LeapPad but we didn't get on with it so my Mum bought her this from Argos.

The case cost £14.99 but was on a half price offer just after Christmas. It comes in two colours to correspond with the LeapPad purple and green.

The case was bigger than I expected, it is significantly larger than the LeapPad. The dimensions of the case are; 2.2 x 15.5 x 20.4 cm and it weighs 200g.

The case we have is purple and it has the LeapPad logo on the front along with several dots of a paler purple colour. It has a lanyard to the top left which is attached to the zip pull. The case is quite solid and when you tap on it you can hear how solid it is.

The case opens like a book, to the right of the case is a cut out deigned to fit the LeapPad snugly and to the right are six holes in which to store cartridges (games) there is also a space for an extra stylus.

The zip wraps right around the case and can be pulled using the lanyard or the big zip pull attached.

The inside of the case is pale purple and covered with a protective felt like material. The cartridges are held in place by stretchy elastic each slot has it's own elastic to keep the cartridge in place.

We only use this to take the LeapPad out and about, on a weekend my Mum looks after my daughter while I work and she likes to take the LeapPad with her. The case is very protective and it means I can just put it in a bag and not worry about damaging or scratching the screen. The LeapPad itself is fairy well protected anyway but this case is useful for keeping the bits and pieces together. The lanyard also means that my daughter can carry it herself.

The only downside is the zipper is a little stiff, my daughter who is 2 1/2 can undo it easily but she can't do it back up. Again this isn't too much of a problem as in the house we don't tend to use the case.

Overall this is a useful addition to the LeapPad, it enables us to transport the LeapPad safely and it is well padded out, I have dropped it a few times getting out of the car, my own fault for trying to carry everything at once, the case still looks as good as new and there was no damage to the LeapPad.

I would give this 4 out of 5, it is a bit bulky compared the the size of the LeapPad but overall a good purchase.
