... things I did was go on a shopping trip to buy all the necessary safety equipment. There are a few doors that we keep closed, but our living room, bathroom, kitchen doors are normally keep pushed open. Now we have a moving child, I bought six of these door stoppers. They stretch round most standard doors, which all of ours are. If the door these are on should inadvertently be pushed shut, the plastic mould stops the door from slamming on little fingers. There will always be an inch gap or so between the door and the do...more

Boots Door Stopper: Stop that door! (517 words)

As a child, on several occasions, I caught my fingers in doors and I even still bear the scar of one such accident on one of my little fingers. I can remember the day it happened as clear as anything and it's mainly for this reason that I use foam safety door stoppers around my home for when my nieces & nephews come to visit. My door stopper of choice has been the Boots ones and this is purely because I have been able to use a load of advantage card points I won to purchase these. At £4.09 each stopper they don't come cheap but then if it prevents a potentially nasty accident it's well worth the money to me. Each door stopper is individually wrapped in a ...  Read the complete review

Childrens fingers and nasty slamming doors have never mixed well. I always recall when my grandma caught her arm in the car door, which resulted in a trip to casualty. Since then I have been a bit over cautious about our childrens fingers becoming jammed in doors or cupboards. Its something I worry about happening to my own and other children visiting the home to play. When we considered trying safety door stoppers. We initially bought some of the Safety 1st brand, but found we were 2 short, so topped up with some of the Boots brand door stoppers. We already knew that the idea of fitting the door stoppers had worked really, well so hoped the Boots ones ...  Read the complete review

Boots Door Stopper: A good safety item! (454 words)

When it comes to safety things for the house with a baby, my mum is super cautious!! At her house she hasn't got many interior doors so she decided she had to kit my house out with safety door stoppers! She came home from shopping one day and had found some Safety First Door Stoppers in a discount store for just a pound so of course she'd had to pick up a few packets!! So, what is a door stopper? It is basically a chunky piece of shaped foam that fits on the side of your doors to stop them slamming shut. I would describe the shape as a sort of squashed U shape and is a bendy, almost rubber like foam that means you can bend it to fit on almost any type of door. ...  Read the complete review

Don't slam that door!! (474 words)

I have a beautiful door stopper from John Lewis. Its a large glass ball with lots of little air bubbles inside, it looks lovely and really goes with the decor in my house. Its very heavy and works well as a door stopper but I can't actually use it as a door stopper anymore as my little boy likes to roll it and play with it like an actual ball so I've had to take it away from him as its sure to cause some damage soon. Instead, we've had to fit these ugly door stoppers from Boots but hey, they work so I guess that is the main point. This door stopper is such a simple idea and design. What I like about it is that you can attach it to a door up quite high so its ...  Read the complete review

Boots Door Stopper: Saving little fingers (372 words)

As soon as our twins started to crawl at around 10 months one their favourite games was to get behind our living room door and push it shut. As the door sits on carpet it doesn't swing freely so I usually had time to rescue them but I started worrying about their little fingers, not just that they would trap their own but that they would trap each others. I remembered my sister having some foam door stoppers when her children were little and so had a look the next time I was in Boots and found this door stopper. Packaging This door stopper comes in very simple cardboard backed plastic packaging which you tear apart to get into it. I'm not keen on this ...  Read the complete review
