Advantages: Protects little fingers from getting traped in doors.

Disadvantages: A little expensive for a shaped piece of foam.

As a child, on several occasions, I caught my fingers in doors and I even still bear the scar of one such accident on one of my little fingers. I can remember the day it happened as clear as anything and it's mainly for this reason that I use foam safety door stoppers around my home for when my nieces & nephews come to visit. My door stopper of choice has been the Boots ones and this is purely because I have been able to use a load of advantage card points I won to purchase these. At £4.09 each stopper they don't come cheap but then if it prevents a potentially nasty accident it's well worth the money to me.

Each door stopper is individually wrapped in a cardboard packet with a plastic section on the front. It's easy enough just to tear the door stopper away from the cardboard and pop it out of the plastic. The stopper is then fitted towards the top part of the door and the U style shape foam is designed to mould to the shape of your door and prevent it from closely completely tight. The foam fits very quickly and efficiently and does not actually prevent me from pressing my doors closed, it just means that they don't shut completely tight and the small space that is left means that a small toddler or child should not damage their fingers if they are around the edge of the door as they pulled it closed.

I do feel that these stoppers are good quality, mine has been in place for quite a few months now and I have had no problems with them becoming loose or damaged. We live in a very dusty new build at the moment and it's fair to say that most things have to be able to cope with a layer of dust and grime for this reason. This door stopper is easy to wipe clean if need be and very little maintenance is required to keep it looking good.

Overall I am very pleased with the quality of this product, after many months of use it shows no real signs of wear and tear and is not coming loose at all. It's very simple to use and works well at preventing little fingers becoming trapped in doors. I appreciate that £4.09 is a little expensive for what is essentially a piece of foam but I enjoy the peace of mind that it gives me just by being there and as I only have a few internal doors it's not really been an issue to be these, however, should you decide you want to use these and need a lot more than shop around as there are a few different versions of this product on the market at the moment.

I would firmly recommend these, mainly as a 'just in case' item but if you have little children toddling around the place you can never be too careful as it only takes a minute for an accident to happen.

Summary: A worthwhile gadget ensuring safety.
