These can be a cheap and effective way to child proof the cupboards and draws in your home to make them difficult to open for ypung children however they do have their limiotations. For us we have found that one of the important things to remember is that they are there, my other half has broken a couple when he used too much force on a draw and the clip bent and was no longer effective, this has proven to be a very short term problem as it only happened twice but it also suggests that these clips will have a limited shelf life as your child develops strength.

Buying these I mainly wanted to secure a couple of cupboards that contain cleaning products and the draws that have matches or cutlery in them, also up in the bathroom there was a cupboard that needed securing. They are cheap to buy, a pack of six cost me £1.99 on Amazon. They are simple to attach to the cupboard, the hook part is screwed into the door and the lock goes into the frame, they are eaxy to screw in although the screws that are included are quite cheap so you have to be careful not to damage the screw head. When in place the cupbaord door will open a little bit but no further when the lock clicks in, to open you just press the hook in to release it from the lock and the door opens easily.

These are certainly an effective way of stopping young children from getting into cupboards however as I said before they do have their limitations and are only going to be effective until the point where your child is able to suss out how to get past them, by then hopefully they will be old enough to really understand the dangers of cleaning products, medical stuff is not such a problem for me as that is stored high up out of reach of even me without a chair to stand on.

There is an inconvenience factor with these wen you forget so there is an adjustment time to get used to them being there but they are easy to attach and offer a cheap solution to a potential problem.
