Clippasafe Fridge Lock
Advantages: Made of sturdy white plastic. Easy to use, simple to fit and not mess after removal.
Disadvantages: Did not fit my fridge
I have been taking my baby to sure start playgroups since she was 4 months old and aways learn lots of new things, my baby plays with new toys, gets used to other babies ,and best of all we get free things. Can't be bad!
A few months ago we recieved a free home saftey starter pack, which I can assure you has been a God send. It is a 30 piece gift set that just keeps giving. We have been using all the different pieces at different stages as my baby develops and explores new things. Just 4 days ago at 16 months she has discovered her new found strength and is able to open the fridge. Her new found treasure chest is full of delights including 'balls' (cherry tomatoes), feta 'cheeeeeese', apples , and her most beloved innocent Orange juice. At first she would stand in awe for a few minutes and stare in delight. Then yesterday she decided to open the mushrooms and start eating them, begged me to open her youghurt, and feed her the teeth rotting juice.
Enough was enough. I delved into the cupboard and brought out my trusty saftey pack.
The lock consists of two pieces of white sturdy plastic. One is about 5 CMS long. It has one rounded end wich ends in a square shape. Then there is a 1x2 cm thin indented rectangle. This rectangle slots into the second piece. The second piece is around 7 cm and curves round to where the other piece clips into.To open you lift the top of the clip. This all sounds very complicated and is hard too explain but in real life it is extremely simple to use. To attatch it to the fridge each end has a sticky pad. Just peel off the blue paper and stick it to the correct place on your fridge. The glue is extremley strong so it is of upmost importance to get it in the right place the first time or it will be very difficult to unstick.
With a sigh of relief I took out the fridge lock and measured it up to my fridge. And horror of horrors it was nowhere near long enough. Now I believe my fridge is of average size but obviously not as the lock would go nowhere near it.
I am very glad that I hadn't bought these seperatly as I would have been very dissapointed to get them home and find they were not suitable. Luckily I also had a toilet lock in my pack so used that instead. And it works perfectly. My baby is not able to get in there but always stands trying to figure a way of getting in. We make sure not to let her see how to open it as she will probably be able to do it.
You can buy these fridge locks seperately from Amazon at £1.99 but make sure they fit your fridge. If they do I am sure they will work perfectly as they are made of very sturdy plastic and are hard for small adventurous hands to open.
Overall if they would have fitted I am sure they would be a life saver and well worth £1.99. The only come in white so if you have a different colour fridge they won't look too good.
Summary: Make sure they fit your fridge . If they do you'll love them.
