Clippasafe Roller Blind
Advantages: Keep the car shaded and cool
Disadvantages: The children couldn't see very well
In the summer we tend to take lots of trips which involve long car journeys. I had seen some of these roller blinds online and ordered a pack. Thy come in a pack of 2 and they cost £5.49.
The blinds measure 35 x 48cm and they are a good fit for a car window. They can be attached by hooks that sit over the top of the window or by suction cups that stick to the window itself.
The blind is easily pulled down and can be kept at the desired length by securing it with another suction cup. If you prefer not to use the suction cup for the bottom of the blind then velcro tags come included in the pack and this can be attached to the car door instead.
To gets the blinds to roll back up there is a small button to push which winds it back in. It rolls away easily and tidily, also if a child happens to pull on it it won't roll back up.
I found these roller blinds very useful when the sun is bright. They shaded the majority of the window and just left an inch all the way round which wasn't covered. The younger children didn't even bother to try and pull the blinds which was I think to the fact that the blinds are very plain and quite boring to look at. They are black on the side that faces into the car and a beige colour on the side that faces outside.
As well as keeping the children shaded the blinds also kept the car very cool. As the sun isn't coming through the glass the car isn't like a sauna! The children were nice and cool and there was no complaints about needing a window open.
The only downside I had with this blinds was that it was quite hard for the kids to see through so they did get a little bored. They resorted to looking through the tiny gap at the side, but it wasn't a major problem and most of the time we kept the blinds only half way down the window as it kept the sun out and also allowed the kids to see.
I would buy these blinds again, they are very practical and work well.
Summary: 5 out of 5
