We bought a Harness Buddy as soon as our little boy was walking confidently. I wanted him to be independent when he was walking, but still safe. Other baby reins I looked at had a very short strap for the parent to hold, meaning the child could not go very far ahead. On researching these, I found that the Goldbug ones had a 3 foot harness, making it perfect for letting your child go further, and for taller parents!

We chose the monkey design, and our little boy was very impressed with it when it arrived. He wanted to put it on straight away. The harness has a clip which easily detatches, meaning your child can safely keep it on when they are playing, without the worry of the harness causing an accident.

There is a little pocket on the monkey which is ideal for putting your phone and keys if you are off on a shorter walk with your little one. It wouldn't fit much more than that, which is a shame as it would be nice to be able to store your child's drink bottle, or a little toy.

A downside I have found is that the reins do not seem very big. My little boy is 20 months and slightly big for his age, but when wearing a thick coat, I can't get both clips to do up on the front. They are adjusted to maximum and still will not do up. I have to just do one clip up, which is still safe but not ideal.

The reins look very attractive, and come in lots of different animal designs. The RRP is £19.99, which I think is quite expensive for what it is, but it is very well made and appealing to young children.
