Advantages: Colour changing and face to help read the temp, cheap, durable, portable
Disadvantages: Not a must have item but i liked it
I got a grobag egg as a gift when my daughters were born. It is a super little gadget that helps parent get the room temperature right for baby.
A grobag egg costs from £15.00 and up. They are available from argos, babygurgles.co.uk and kiddiesave.co.uk at this price.
The grobag egg comes with a ac adaptor and a small base to sit the egg on, the instructions are easy to follow. A grobag egg is a digital room thermometer that changes colour. It helps parents get the temperature right so babies can sleep safe and not over heat or be to cold. The egg only stands at 5 inches tall small compact and has a meter long power cable, i had the egg next to the cot sitting on the changing table as there was only one power socket in the room.
The egg has the screen on the front where the tempeture reads and surrounding that is the light that glows. The display that shows the temperature underneath that has a small face and when if the room is at the right temperature the face will be smiling and happy the egg will also be glowing yellow witch is just right for baby to sleep safe.
If the room is cold the light will be blue and will show a sad face, too warm colour will be orange and a sad face, too hot red and a sad face. To be honest i never look at the face i go by the light and yellow seemed to stay on the egg so everything was fine.
The grobag egg light stays on and cant be turned off but it lets of a gentle glow like a night light and when using the egg you shouldn't be needing a night light as well. The dull glow soothed my daughters and never disturbed their sleep. The egg is made from plastic and feels quite light it is portable and can go anywhere i used to pack it in the bag when taking my daughters to granny's for the night. I felt good using the grobag egg and was always giving an acruite reading. As my girls are older now they don't need it but have left it in the bedroom for them to use as a night light they got so used to having it on as babies they actually feel comforted by it.
I think its a great little gadget and i highly recommend the grobag egg.
