The mirror is not made of glass but is instead a kind of plastic material which is reflective in the same way a glass mirror is. Because it is plastic it is very robust and is unbreakable and it doesn't smear anywhere near as much as glass does. The reflection, for a non-glass mirror, is actually pretty good and my son would actually spend time looking at himself. The mirror has a frame which surrounds the entire mirror. It is ...more

Lamaze Phase 1 First Mirror: A safe mirror for baby to play with (269 words)

This is an unbreakable plastic mirror in a cloth frame. The one I have is like the picture - a black and white and red frame. The one they sell now is more brightly coloured I think, but the same principle. The cover has two white straps at the top with velcro on them so you can hang the mirror from the side of a cot. It comes with a foam wedge (triangle-shape, like a toblerone). This also has velcro spots on it, so you can rest the mirror against the wedge and attach it using the straps. One side of the triangle is steeper than the other so you can vary the angle at which the mirror rests. This is so you can lie your baby on the floor next to the ...  Read the complete review

My son had the Lamaze Phase 1 First Mirror when he was a baby and it was something that was in his cot for about 8 months from the time he was about 2 weeks old. It is a mirror that could be propped up against the side of the cot or attached to the side of a moses basket or pen using the velcro straps. It would be helpful if there was the option of longer velcro straps because they are rather short, but it is fine to prop it up against the side of things also. It is designed with young babies in mind and so it was perfect for my little cherub from the time he was born. Lamaze Phase 1 First Mirror: Lovely lamze mirror from birth and up (353 words)

My daughters Hannah and Jess had loads of lamaze toys when they were babies, my sister was obsessed with the toys so most of them come in gifts from her. My sister bought the girls the lamaze phase 1 first mirror when they were born. I have seen second hand lamaze mirrors for sale on ebay and going very cheap but i am sure this one cost my sister £15.00 new. The lamaze mirror is plastic so will not brake or cause any safety concerns, it is for 0 months plus. The mirror is surrounded with a cloth frame in red , black and white, the black and white are squares with the red bring the trim. The reason the mirror frame is black white and red is because baby's ...  Read the complete review

This is a toy that has been in my toy box for a long time, my son had it when he was a baby and the children I look after play with it now- we have definately had our moneys worth! The toy comes in 2 separate pieces which can be joined together or used on their own. The mirror is very high quality, it is unbreakable and extremely difficult to scratch. Ours has only 2 scratches on it and they are very tiny. The mirror sits inside a soft padded frame and it is easy to remove if needed, simply pull back the sides and slip out. The mirror is brightly coloured with a black and white chequered pattern. It has 2 velcro straps on the back and these can be ...  Read the complete review
