This was the safety gate I chose once my son was well and truly on the move. Initially we had it on our livin door so he was confined to the living room then once he was steady on his feet we took it off and moved it to one of the bedroom doors. Makes sure that our cat at least has one place he can go and hide!!!

It is priced at £21.99 from Tesco direct. It fits openings from 75cm to 81cm. Though you can get extensions so it will fit 137cm gap.

It is a pressure fit gate so you can fit it easily without having to drill holes and screw fittings together. Though it does also come with cups you can fix to the wall if you were using it at the top of a flight of stairs for extra safety.

The gate will open in either direction and there are stoppers on the gate so you can prevent it from opening one way if needed.

I found it was easy to fit, but wouldn't be suitable if you wanted to remove it at the end of the day and put up again. We leave ours in place so it's not a problem.

It fits well and is secure, even when I found my son swinging on the gate part!!!

To open the gate you need to squeeze the buttons together and lift the handle, which takes a bit of getting used to but now I can do it very easily!
