This safety gate has been used through-out my house on stairs and most rooms. it has pressure plungers that you can screw in and out using the threaded rod to make it fit the required space. it has small blue stops on either side so you can make it only open one way and not two ways if reuired. When you open the gate there is still a bar across the bottom so be carefull not to trip over it when walking through the gateway.
To open the gate you have to squeeze the underside of the handle to release the safety latch at the top of the gate. Once it has been secured tightly to the door frame it does not move and is very safe. It is very easy to remove the gate and moveto another doorway by simply unscrewing the threaded rod plungers. The side panels do not move and are fixed in place at all times but the centre piece of the gate opens when the latch is released as described above.
