We have had these gates for four years now and they are very reliable.

We couldn't believe how many different kinds of gates there were and we were quite shocked really by the varying prices. We chose this one because it doesn't have anything that goes along the floor so it will help to prevent people tripping over it.

My husband installed it using his tool kit and it only took him a short while to do, it was straight forward enough.

It can open both ways which is very practical depending on which direction you are coming. Of course the gate which is at the bottom of the stairs will only open one way because of the stair behind it but the one at the top swings both ways as does the one in my kitchen and I find this useful.

To open it you have to press a button in and lift the gate slightly. I can do this with one hand so it's easy to do when I have my hands full. It is far too difficult for small hands to do though, my 6 year old grandchild cannot do this and I see this as a good thing. The gates with levers on she is able to open so I think this is more childproof than most.

A stair gate is essential as it will stop children falling down the stairs or coming into my kitchen when I am cooking.

These are brilliant, the lack of a bar across the floor is just what we need as I would hate for anyone to trip over them when these gates are meant to increase safety and lower accidents.

      Brilliant gates

I bought this as an alternative to the other safety gates on the market. I do not like the ones that have a bar across the floor as there is a risk of falling over them. I did not want to chance that risk with me and my children.
It also fits across my stairs which are pretty wide and I do find it hard to get a stairgate to fit.
It is attached pretty simply. If I can do it then anyone can!!!!
It has lasted us a long time and is still in very good condition.
It can be opened with one hand so it is useful if you have a baby in your arms. That is another reason I never went for a gate with a bar at the bottom, in case I had my baby in my arms and I fell.
      Would highly recommend these gates.
