Just the other day, I stumbled across these lights that I threw in the toybox. I remember it was my younger sister (11) who gave them too me because she wanted to buy a present for the nursery but she didn't really have a lot of money. I thought it was a sweet idea, she said that it would relax the kids for going to sleep. I don't think she really thought about the purpose of them, I just thought she wanted to buy something. She offered to buy a teddy, but I told her don't because we already had too many teddies, It wasn't particularly true, but I didn't want her spending all her birthday money. She bought us something anyway, they came in a two pack and they are priced at £5 from Morthercare. However, I had already been in mother care and noticed a batch of them were thrown into the reduced isle and were priced at 50p. I stumbled upon one of them only yesterday (don't know where the other one went), and thought I would rush on here to share my experience.
I have seen many 'Green car blue' products in mother care, so I assume that it is quite a well known name. You can get thermometers and bed sheets with the name name/pictures.
The plug is an oval-shaped chunky plastic light. I noticed it was quite stiff to pull in and out, which can ease your mind about keeping it in the room. However, I still wouldn't plug it in when the children are playing, just in case.
They come in a pack of two and have different patterns. One says 'green car blue' in different sizes and colours over the plug, the other one has dotted, joined writing saying 'beep beep'. I think the look of these are very cheap, they would look quite nice in a boys room, but certainly not a girls.
You use them simply by plugging them in and switching the socket on. I found that the light was a tiny glow, but it didn't go to much use. I think if you are wanting to calm the atmosphere of the room they are useful, but they don't' provide any light into the room, it just looks like an object that glows in the corner. They did the job they were supposed to do, but I thought it should have provided a soft light for the room. It doesn't do very much, it is like an ornament. However, it did the job it was supposed to do and for that reason I would say that they are a cheap extra that makes a little change to the room and I highly recommend it!
Summary: quite weak.
