It's always a bit of a step up to the next level when you have to move your baby from their cot into a single bed for a toddler. It can take a bit of adjusting for child and parent. I certainly realised that with our first son when he went into a bed and we bought this Mothercare soft fold down bed guard rail to give us a bit of peace of mind when our son was sleeping in his own bed. The fact that they have gone from a cot where they can't get out to a bed where of course there is no protection from them rolling out in the middle of the night can be a bit worrying. Well this product is is great and only set us back about £19.99 at the time. The guard we bought was in blue but you can also get them in pink colour if it's for a girl.

The first thing that struck me about this guard is that it is pretty stable which you want it to be and having used it for a while now I can saftely say that it has taken some battering and is still going strong. The last thing you want is something flimsy that collapses at the first sign of stress on it. Also an added bonus is that this folds down during the day when your child doesn't need it.

Thankfully when we got this rail it assembles pretty easily as was thinking it might be nightmare to put together. Once erected and positioned correctyl which you need to do through reading the instructions, then it's great. Also, there are no sharp edges at all that could hurt your child. When it's folded down it's handy enought to store under the bed until you need it next.

I would recommend any parent getting one of these if your child is about to head into a proper bed just you don't have to concern yourself with your child falling out in the night and hurting themselves.
