Safety 1st Slam Stopper
Advantages: Good for child safety
When I started childminding I saw these on the internet and though they were a great idea. I hadn't used them with my firstborn and as my daughter was still very tiny I thought they would work well for her as well as any other children I may look after.
The door stopper is a large piece of expanded foam. It is shaped like a sideways C and is very chunky. It is about and inch thick on either side and is lightweight.
The stopper gets placed on the top or the side of any door. It is best to place it out of the childrens reach as it will get pulled off!The stopper will prevent the door from fully closing, leaving a gap between the frame and the door itself.
To attach the stopper you pull it apart slightly and place it on the door, it is very easy and very effective. It can be moved from door to door depending on where you need it. It is extremely durable and the foam doesn't lose its tight grip no matter how many times you move it.
The door stopper has prevented many accidents in my house. With lots of children running around it is easy for doors to close and you can't always be sure that there are no fingers in the way. The children were very confused when I first put this on the top of the door, they couldn't understand why it was still slightly open!
I use one of the stoppers on my sons bedroom door at night. He sleeps with the top window open but if it is windy his door will slam shut and wake him up. I use the stopper so the door can't close fully.
The door stoppers start at £1.90 for one or you can buy a pack of 2 for £2.99. They really are worth every penny.
Summary: Good for saving little fingers
