“ Brand: Tomy / Safety Type: Safety Gates „
We bought this safety gate because we wanted one that we could remove completely rather than just fold it away. You can fit it without wall mounted cups, but its not secure when its like that. Now that we've had it for a year or so, we have fitted three sets of cups around the house. This means that we have a lot of flexibility in where our kids are allowed in the house (eg just downstairs, just in the kitchen and downstairs toilet (for playing in the garden), or with just our bedroom and the bathroom blocked so my daughter can play in her bedroom. You get one set of 4 cups with the gate. We ordered a second set from Tomy which cost about £4. For the next set, we just used some plastic carpet protector cups from Woolworths. Most of the time we just climb over the gate, which is good exercise. I've not been particularly impressed with the quality of the catches on other stair gates that I've seen, so it isn't a lot of hassle. One of the good things about this barrier is that it can be adjusted to fit a narrower doorway than a lot of gates. Its still a bit too wide to fit 27 inch wide door frames (for that a Kiddyguard http://www.childcare-now.co.uk/acatalog/Childcare_Now_The_Kiddiguard_Safetygate_57 .html is the best I've found). A couple of times this Tomy gate got stuck whilst in a wide setting. Brute force unsticks it.
Safety barrier is made with a metal frame and washable soft cover.
