Advantages: Can easily hear your baby with volume control
Disadvantages: None
Rather than buying new monitors, my friend lent me these to use for our baby. We put our baby in his own room from 4 weeks so it was important to us that we had good monitors so that we could hear him throughout the night.
The first thing that impressed me with these monitors is that they are so sensitive you can hear your child breathing, this really set my mind at ease when I woke through the night and also saved my legs as I didn't have to keep getting up to go in his nursery, which no doubt I would have if I couldn't hear him breathing on the monitor!!
There are two monitors, a baby unit and the parent unit, you can have batteries in them so they are completely portable or you can plug them both into the mains if you don't really need to take them anywhere.
They both have a blue button on the top that you press when you want to use them. The parent unit also has a volume control on the back so you can have it as loud or as quiet as you like.
There is also a button on the back for tuning in the frequency, sometimes you may find that there is slight static interference, but when you press this button it tunes into the best frequency.
The parent unit also has a button you can press so that you can speak into the monitor so that the baby can hear your voice, which is sometimes enough to soothe your baby without having to go into the nursery.

TheChocolateLady - 22/07/08 Very nice review, although the list of features seems a bit unnecessary. We really want to know your experience and while you give us some, a bit more would have been more useful for me. For instance, if you only use the batteries, how long do they last? How good is that belt clip (which is one of the things that are usually not so great)? Do you have any idea where these are sold and about how much your friend paid for them? Finally, if you hadn't gotten it from a friend, would you have bought this model or another one? |
