Advantages: Interesting textures
Disadvantages: Too sweet, not creamy chocolate
My boyfriend is a complete chocoholic and we have a long distance relationship so when he comes to stay with me (that is rather often!) I do buy lots of things that he likes. However at the rate he can consume chocolate I have stopped buying expensive branded chocolate and trying to save pennies but still keep him happy!
I spotted this at 60p a bar and for such a large sized bar I felt that it offered excellent value for money and knowing how he loves really sweet things thought that this would be even sweeter as it contains sweets in it and earn me a few brownie points too!
The bar itself comes in silver foil and then over that is covered by a bright pink wrapper with a picture of multi coloured candies on it that look like mini smarties. We are told that it is Asda Candy Milk Chocolate Sugar Coated Candies and that it is a 100g in weight (and the only size I have seen this available to purchase in) and that it contains no artificial colours, flavours or hydrogenated fat. On the back of the wrapper other information listed includes ingredients and allergy advice being given, there is a nutritional chart shown, the best before date is clearly stated and contact details for Asda are listed. Nice, bright packaging this is that easy to open and informative enough.
The Chocolate Itself:
What you get is a rather dark in colour brown milk chocolate with small amounts of primary coloured, round candy sweets that can be seen but it is a smooth chocolate in the main and rather thin but large chunks that are easy enough to snap into sections.
Taste wise this is really sweet chocolate and not as creamy as we were expecting it to be. The sweets inside are brightly coloured type smartie type things that are small and whole in the main and there's a fair few of them which add crunch but no real flavour apart from a sugar flavouring and a bit of hard chocolate under the crispy outer shell.
