Advantages: Taste great, not expensive, Cadburys chocolate
Disadvantages: Dreaded calories
When stocking up on Christmas goodies in Tesco's we saw a BOGOF on Cadburys Chocolate Fingers normally £1.25 per packet. By the way for the uninitiated out there BOGOF is but one get one free!
We got one pack of the standard milk chocolate variety and one in the white chocolate variety, which we haven't opened yet and that must be some kind of record in our house!
Each pack weighs 150g and contains approximately 30 fingers, and of course the packaging is all recycleable - an important factor for me. I know I can't do much to change global warming but I am determined to do what I can!
Of course a bargain isn't a bargain unless the product is good, so is it? Oh yes, these fingers are absolutely gorgeous.
Each finger is a lovely biscuit encased in Cadburys Milk Chocolate, which incidentally is my favourite chocolate in the entire world! As an extra selling point they're suitable for vegetarians too.
You can dunk them, suck them, crunch them, in fact eat them any way you like (steady on, no mucky thoughts please!) they still taste wonderful.
There is of course a down side to all this pleasure, the calorie value! What is she talking about calories for at a time of such exquisite enjoyment? Well it has to be considered - sorry folks.
The calorie value per finger is 30 calories. Now that's not bad if you only eat one or two but who could possibly stop at just one or two. I could eat a whole packet never mind one finger! I wouldn't eat that many of course as my blood sugar would be seriously affected.
The other nutritional values for 100g of these fingers are as follows:
Protein 6.8g
Carbohydrate 60.8g
Fat 27.1g
Fibre 1.7g
Sodium 0.2g
In conclusion I would say that I wouldn't buy these on a regular basis as they are just TOO nice, and I am cuddly enough! But for an occasional treat especially when the special offer is on, why not?
Summary: A lovely chocolatey treat!
