Advantages: tastes nice, good combination, not a bad price
Disadvantages: decreased in size, upped the price by 5p!
Gone are the days where I could nip down to my newsagents and buy a Chomp for 10p . One of the reasons being that they don't sell them anymore and two they've gone up in price-by a staggering 5p! Whilst looking at my bar it's just screaming to be eaten however I have already eaten one and I'll shortly be having my dinner so I'm going to restrain myself for a bit longer.
I have also noticed that they have somehow shrunk. Now I was watching some programme a while back when they were talking about this particular topic, one of the companies actually said that it was because they were thinking of the consumer and didn't want them to become overweight by making the bars of chocolate too big. Maybe in some cases that is a good idea but with a Chomp?! There was hardly anything there to begin with!
Anyhow it's still in its usual foil wrapper and bright colours which is always good as you more or less know what bar you've bought. Instantly recognisable. It even says on the packet that it costs 15p so no sneaky shop owners making you pay extra when it clearly says how much the cost is.
It's such a simple bar you can't think about why it's so popular. Maybe it's down to the fact that milk chocolate and caramel are a perfect combination. Whilst the inside of the thin bar is a soft and chewy with a light caramel taste. Without too much sweetness it has a milky chocolate covering to give it an added flavour.
It is chewy without the feeling that it's going to pull your teeth out as well which is always a good sign on a decent chocolate bar.
Each bar contain 110 calories so considering how small it is doesn't appear to be all that brilliant, it also has 4.7g of fat but I figure that as long as you don't eat too many of them there's no problem!
You don't see them around so often nowadays, I got mine from Wilkinsons which is a shop which seems to sell all the chocolate and sweets which you might of thought weren't being produced anymore. Despite it's increase of 5p and the decrease of its size it still tastes nice and is perfectly acceptable in my mind to use as part of a snack between meals to get a quick sugar fix.
