Cadbury Creme Egg
Advantages: taste very nice and are a sweet treat, the Cadburys chocolate is as good as ever
Disadvantages: The wrapper can get very messy
Well its nearly Easter again and the Creme Eggs are back in all the shops. I saw my first one just after new year this year so i really don't know why they don't sell them all year round because people love them so much.
A creme egg is an egg shaped chocolate treat that is filled with a lovely sweet fondant. It is clever because the egg 'shell' is made out of lovely Cadburys chocolate and the fondant inside is white with a yellow yolk just like a real egg.
The chocolate is thick and the same as Cadburys Dairy Milk. It is a rich and sweet milk chocolate that melts very nicely in my mouth, i think the chocolate on Creme Eggs is very smooth but that is what I would expect from Cadburys anyway. The fondant is very very sweet and all I can really taste is somewhere in between normal sugar and icing sugar. It tastes very nice though and I can see why creme eggs are so popular.
This is a very sweet treat and sometimes it is too sweet for me and sometimes hurts my back teeth. The chocolate and fondant are very nice together though and the sugary taste of the fondant goes well with the sweet chcolate. There are nearly 200 calories in a creme egg which is not as bad as i thought but some people can eat 2 or 3 of them in one go so its bad then.
The worst thing about creme eggs are the wrappers because they come in foil which is wrapped tight around the egg and this foil can get a bit sticky if the egg gets a bit warm or even if it doesn't sometimes. They have got smaller over the years as well and its not that i'm getting bigger because I only discovered creme eggs whenI was an adult.
They cost about 45p when you buy one on its own or you can buy them in packs of 3 or boxes of 6. You can buy mini cream eggs as well in bags.
