Cadbury Creme Egg
Advantages: Great taste - BUT . . . .
Disadvantages: . . . . . Your teeth will pay ! ! !
After just eating one of these and going to Cadbury World a few days ago, I felt I just had to tell the people of Ciao that they must of been mad not to of tried one of these beauties!
Company History; Cadbury Chocolates were created in 1824 by John Cadbury. He started by selling drinking chocolate, tea and coffee in shops. The business was then taken over by John Cadbury's sons (Richard and George) in 1861. In 1878 they then moved to another site near Birmingham as the demand for there drinking chocolate was so high. It was then in 1905 the Cadbury dairy Milk was created with a high content of milk and became the brand leader in the UK. The Cadbury Creme egg came to be in 1923.
Taste; On the outer "shell" you get Cadburys creamy Dairy Milk- which is very sweet and rich because of the high milk content. The inside of the shell consists of a sweet, sickly fondant. The outer fondant is white with a yellow yolk. Sadly they both taste the same- which in a way is not a problem- because it tastes great! The chocolate itself is thick and creamy.
Smell; The smell is very sickly- because of the Dairy milk chocolate combined with the very sweet fondant- It smells very rich!
Packaging; I love the way they have made the Creme egg look- They use yellow (the yolk) Purple (Cadbury company) and reds to make it look vibrant. It looks very vibrant and quite luxurious with the purples and reds. The chocolate on the outside of the egg also is patterned- which looks very nice.
Product Quality; Cadbury Dairy Milk in my opinion is of high quality- it is very creamy, and it is very easy to distinguish it between other chocolate makes! I know the fondant is very sweet I feel it cant be changed as it would ruin the egg completely- so it can only really be consumed as a treat!
Value For Money; For a single unit you can get them for £0.60 which is quite expensive. However in my local Tindalls they are selling 3 for £1.00 which is excellent value for money! That makes them great value for money because they are also of a good size.
Verdict; I cannot wait for the Cadbury season to arrive!!!! (I understand some people dislike reviews with Ingredient lists and Nutrition So I have put it at the bottom of the review)
A few facts;
-Brand value £50 Million!
