Advantages: Snaps into 6 seperate pieces, great tasting, not too rich
As per usual at the till point doing a top up shop in one of my local supermarkets, I have a 1 year bored out of her brain and having a little whinge, and a 3 year old placing his sticky fingers all over the sweets stored next to the till saying ' mummy, can I have some chocolate please? '. I have two options here-I either say no and dont get to the exit alive and shopping packed, paid for and flung under the pram in the space of an hour, or I can give in, buy the stupid sweets and have 2 children who have lost the will to speak and move due to sheer excitement of getting a treat. Sorry-Im weak and in a rush, chocolate bought! An Aero, Bounty and a Dairy Milk ( 45g bar ) bought ( 3 for £1.00 ) and eaten in the space of 10 minutes!
One of my favourite choclate makers due to most of it being milk rather than dark or plain ( which they do make-but Im not that interested! ). We as a nation have enjoyed them for years and they are readily available everywhere, in so many forms such as Flake, Wispa, Roses etc. Originally a family company that turned their passion of cocoa and drinking chocolate to our best loved confectionary products in modern times!
How is this packaged?
Same plastic wrapping in the traditional purple colour. On the front the logo of ' Cadbury ' in gold, then just below ' Dairy Milk ' in white, with two glasses of milk being poured into the lettering. Just below this is a picture of a piece of chocolate and next to it the calories per bar info. In the top left hand corner is the fairtrade symbol and in the right top hand corner is the words ' New Shape '.
On the back is the ingredients list, guideline daily amount information, best before date, nutritional information.
Milk, Sugar, Cocoa butter, Cocoa mass, Vegetable fat, Emulsifiers (E442, E476), Flavourings.
CONTAINS: MILK. MAY CONTAIN: NUTS, WHEAT
How does it look and taste?
Im not one for gimmicks when packaging changes or things like that, so wasnt too excited over this new shape business. As long as it tasted the same I would buy it, regardless. Rather than the bar being in small retangular ' boxes ' that are joined together and you have to snap to seperate, they appear to be rounded on the top and sides, very curvacious. Still got the Cadbury logo embossed into it, same colour etc, just looks alittle more tactile, which it is in feel. Not hard to look at but doesnt get me all excited.
Thank God they havent changed the taste and texture.Still very milky and smooth in taste and texture. Takes awhile to melt but not long to eat ( Im greedy! ). Not gritty in texture or taste or bitter. Not the shinest of chocolate but that doesnt concern me. Sweet, yummy chocolate goodness in a bar.
Would I buy again? Yes I would. Not because of the shape change ( I wonder how much that cost them? ) but because its still the same good tasting piece of indulgence that any kid or adult will eat and enjoy!
