Advantages: Yummy, cheap, good treat for the kids!
Disadvantages: sweet, can be abit sickly!
The Freddo caramel dairy milk chocolate bar is an iconic children's chocolate, and is currently made by Cadbury. It was invented in 1930 by Harry Melbourne, an 18 year old moulder, employed by MacRobertson's Chocolates.
( Note: the above i got from wikipedia)
Each chocolate is shaped like a frog, standing up and dressed. Though available as a solid milk chocolate freddo bar, certain versions of the product have a caramel centered flavouring.
Now to start with the review :)
I went down to my morrisons supermarket today and passed the sweets section... out of the courner of my eye i saw the display for the Freddo Caramel chocolate bar, i thought to myself that i hadnt had one of these in YEARS and with them only been 17p i picked up 6!! 17p for a small chocolate bar isnt too expensive but its well worth the 17p once youve tasted it!
The packaging of the chocolate bar (2010-2011) is yellow and has a frog on the front (green) with the word 'Freddo' in bold red and 'caramel' in a purply blue colour! At the top of the packaging it says 'dairy milk' and of course there is also the price in bold writing!
Also on the front it says that there is 95 calories which is 5.3% of a childs guideline daily amount (GDA).
On the back it says the energy content (400KJ per bar), Kcal (95 kcal per bar), protein (1.1g per bar), carbohydrate (11.9g per bar) and fat ( 4.8g per bar-6.9% of your childs GDA).
Milk chocolate ( milk, sugar, cocoa butter, cocoa mass, vegetable fat, emulsifers (E442, E476), Flavourings), caramel (30%) (Glucose syrup, Glucose-fructose syrup, Invert sugar syrup, vegetable oil, dried whey, sugar, salt, Emulsifier (E471), Flavouring).
CONTAINS: MILK. MAY CONTAIN: NUTS, WHEAT, SOYA.
**The equivalent of 426ml of fresh liquid milk in every 227g of milk chocolate. MILK CHOCOLATE: MILK SOLIDS 20% MINIMUM, ACTUAL 23% CONTAINS VEGETABLE FATS IN ADDITION TO COCOA BUTTER.
Now For The Taste:
The taste is mostly of the milk chocolate, but you can taste abit of the caramel too, it is a really nice taste tho, but the chocolate and the caramel together is quite sweet and if you eat more than 2 Freddo bars you may start to feel abit on the sick side as they are abit sickly.
Overall the taste is really nice but you really need to try this chocolate bar for yourself :)
Summary: A very yummy chocolate bar, i would recommend to friends and family and obviously small children!
