Advantages: delicious taste
Disadvantages: not always available
Mini eggs have an odd cone like shape and have hard milk chocolate centres which are covered in a crisp shell. The eggs are all different colours, but have lovelly pastel colours and a matt almost chalky like coating that makes them quite unusual. They have been going since 1988 and are still going strong to this day.
Mini eggs are not always available throughout the year and you will tend to see them only on the run up to easter.
You can buy these in mini packs (40gram bag), and you get about 7 in them, or larger packs, where you get about 20 (100grams). The small packs cost about 30pence and the larger bags cost around 80p to £1. You can also buy them in multipacks, and this are widely available and a much cheaper alternative. The bags are sadly normally only half full, which is a shame, as they could easily fill them fuller.
Cadburys mini eggs are very sweet, and have a great texture to them. Alot of people crunch them, but i like to suck them until all the shell disolves and then eat the creamy milk chocolate inside.
Each egg is 15calories, so bear this in mind when eating a large pack, as this would soon add up!
Cadburys mini eggs, also brought out a limited edition dark chocolate centre, and for me i found this very nice and the dark chocolate was very rich and almost coffee like.
The packaging is very noticeable, it is bright yellow and i find it very appealing. There is also a funny looking bird that is associated with mini eggs, which you see on the packaging and on the tv adverts. At easter time you can often also buy the stuffed toy of the bird.
The packaging is also quite interesting and they always put a fact on the bag about mini eggs.
Please note that there was an allergy alert with this product issued in march 2008, and it advised people who were alergetic to hazelnut of a potential risk to them.
