Advantages: crunch nicely, taste good
Disadvantages: too sweet
Cadbury mini eggs are a very sweet treat, particularly for children. They come in a small treat-sized bag (which doesn't contain quite enough) or a larger bag which is apparently for sharing (like that ever happens). You can also get two of the small bags with an Easter egg at Easter-time.
Each sweet is an egg-shaped piece of chocolate coated with a sweet crunchy coloured shell. The shells come in a variety of pastelly colours, each mottled to look convincingly egg-like. I prefer to think of them as dinosaur eggs, myself. The shells are lightly sweet and crunch pleasingly.
The chocolate inside is good cadbury's chocolate, nothing cheap, but that does mean it's not a good idea to leave them in a warm room because the inside will melt and go all gooey. It's a solid egg too so you get a good amount of chocolate in each one. They're pretty moreish but I find that the sugary shell makes them a little too sweet for me to appreciate them.
My husband absolutely loves these eggs, and always gets lots of them at Easter time. They make a great treat for kids too, and are a staple part of Easter-egg hunts. I've also had them put into tiny little nests with those fluffy yellow chicks you get, as a little Easter decoration or gift. All that talk about Easter is just because it's round the corner; these are great for any time of year, and make for a nice treat or snack. I find that because of their sweetness they go particularly well with coffee!
Summary: A sweet treat that's great for kids
