Cadbury's Mini Eggs
Advantages: Tasty, moorish, creamy cadburys milk chocolate centre
Disadvantages: Only around seasonally!
Christmas has passed and before we can blink the Easter confectionary has hit the shops. One of my favourite Easter treats has to be Cadbury's mini eggs, these little speckled delights were launched by Cadburys way back in 1967 and reappear in the shops every year in the run up to Easter. They consist of Cadbury's milk chocolate in the shape of an egg which are covered in a pastel coloured, crisp sugar shell.
The mini eggs can be purchased in various different sized and style of packets. I opted to purchase the individual sized boxes which were priced at 60p each in my local Tesco Express store, there was also an offer on of 3 boxes for £1.20 which I took advantage off...it would have been rude not to!
The small box I had did not specify the weight of the contents on the side but I did count the eggs and found that it contained 14. The eggs are different pastel colours of yellow, pink, white, purple and blue and are decorated with brown speckles to make them look like real eggs.
I find these little eggs very moorish indeed, although they are all coloured differently they do still all taste the same. The sugar shel is quite thin so quickly breaks down when you begin to eat them to reveal the lovely creamy cadburys milk chocolate. It was safe to say that my little box of 14 eggs didn't last that long.
The eggs are also great for using as decorations on cakes at Easter time. You can place them on top of cupcakes or rice crispy cakes to make them look like a nest with the pastel colours making them look very cute indeed.
Overall these are lovely little Easter treats which I look forward to eating every year so grab some before they are gone again!
Summary: A fab part of Easter.
