Cadbury's Mini Eggs
Advantages: Indulgent, hard to resist chocolate treat
Disadvantages: Seasonal supply and not brilliant for calorie counters
It is certainly worth pointing out that I consider myself to be a chocoholic. I know that many will confess to be such but to define my love of all things chocolate it is safe to say that not a single day passes whereby I don't consume something in chocolate form. These little eggs make up one of my all time weaknesses and would rank in my top 5 favourite treats ever! Be warned though-if you open a packet you need to expect to finish them as they can become hard to resist.
The product-normally the product is seasonal and only stocked by retailers around the Easter period. Supplied in different packaging variations including treat size to full size packets, tubes and included with larger chocolate Easter eggs. Consisting of small bite sized, crunchy shell, solid chocolate eggs in different colours. The eggs are very indulgent and so it's sometimes worth considering the treat size portions as the calories can very quickly add up! It would be great if Cadbury's considering retailing these all year round but I can appreciate that the limited supply boosts sales near Easter. I have yet to come across anyone who actually dislikes the product, quite often in the office everyone will happily grab a handful if someone has a packet-they don't hang about long!
The price-as a seasonal product it can normally command a slightly higher price similar to a limited edition but you can often pick up the product on offer especially in the larger supermarkets. A standard full size packet will cost up to £1. As it is a seasonal item you may sometimes find bags or tubes on clearance offers after Easter even though product dates wouldn't be an issue.
It is worth noting that other confectioners have tried to replicate the 'mini eggs' product and even supermarkets are often found to offer their own brand. In my opinion these other brands will not match the unique taste of the Cadbury product and so it is worth paying slightly more for the real thing.
Summary: Perfect little treat that everyone loves!
