Cadbury's Mini Rolls
Advantages: Tasty, Good quality, Lovely texture and flavour
Disadvantages: A bit pricey?
Cadburys mini rolls are great little cakes that are very tasty and quite filling too. I find them useful to take out for a snack whether I am going to work or simply out with some friends! They also make good breakfasts for those late mornings; mind you they aren't healthy for breakfast whatsoever. Made by Cadburys, they are of excellent quality and taste great.
I buy them in packs of 6. This pack has a sealed packet around them with a bright purple design. The Cadburys logo is to the top left and the 'mini rolls' title is in large bold letters along the front. These letters are still in purple with a white surrounding to really make them stand out. On the front of the outside packet is also a picture of what the mini roll looks like with a cross-section view from an angle so you can see the outside texture too. The back of the packet contains all the information you need from ingredients to nutritional information to contact details for Cadburys.
The actual rolls themselves are cylinder-shaped. They have a flat bottom to them and a slight texture round the rest. This outer coating is a thin layer of chocolate. Inside is a spongy cake with a swirl of thick cream in the middle. The sponge cake is chocolate flavoured and quite thick too rather than being light. It has quite an original look and the packet stands out on the shelf.
I am really pleased with the taste of these rolls. Not only do they taste of lovely rich chocolate, but they have an admirable thick texture. The cream in the middle seems somewhat thick, and the thickness is accompanied by the rich spongy cake. When I say rich, I don't literally mean sickly as it isn't sickly at all. It has a very intense chocolate flavour rather than feeling light. The cream adds to a lovely texture and feeling in the mouth when you are eating this. It makes it a bit smoother and alters the flavour to make it fantastic!
At just 99p for a pack of six, the price couldn't be much better. Considering that they are rather filling as a snack and very tasty, the price isn't too bad. Doing the maths, this works out at 16.5p per cake, which isn't really that bad. I don't think you can buy them separately, but I don't know why you would want to because they are pretty small anyway. I managed to once buy a pack for around 30p as it was in a discounted section of Tesco. They weren't gone off and they were fine when I ate all of them!
Overall, I am content with these mini cakes. They have a lovely flavour and texture too. They are handy little snacks to take out with you and will keep your stomach filled up to fuel you through the day. At 99p for 6 bars, the price isn't too bad. Being made by Cadburys; they are of good quality, emphasised by the taste. You can't miss them on the shelves if you are looking for a packet, because of their shiny and vivid display!
