Geisha are chocolates from Swedish brand Fazer, and I bought these because I heard they taste good as well as the intriguing name!
Geishas come in all shapes and sizes, tall, short, but all are beautiful. Same goes for the chocolate. They come in bars, wrapped, boxed... and the one I got is a packet (80g) of about 15 to 20 wrapped chocolates. They come in a light cherry blossom pink coloured bag, and has a nice packaging and print of the name on the front.
~~~APPEARANCE TASTE AND TEXTURE~~~
Each Geisha is individually wrapped in a pink wrapper, and when you undress them, a rectangular chocolate lay bare before you. It has little surface decoration- which is a shame, as they could've made it much more elaborate and classy.
Despite its appearance, the taste and texture tell a whole different story. It has an extremely yummy centre of crunchy hazelnut paste with chocolate, which is divine. It is one of the best chocolate I have tasted. I am a fan of nutty chocolate, so this is gorgeous.
It is not too sweet and it is a great size, so it is perfect for sharing. As there aren't many in the bag, I have reserved it strictly for family, and it is slowly being whittled down to nothing.
They were purchased for just under £2 in the supermarket at Ahlens City (Stockholm). It IS expensive compared to the quantity you get, but I've never had them before, and wanted to try them- well worth it.
Having bought and eaten these chocolates, I have a new found love of geishas (the chocolate). They are truly divine. The taste and texture are a perfect combo, and the nuttiness and slight crunch it provides is truly amazing. I really like these, and would definitely like to try the bars, and the boxes (if they are different in any way). Unfortunately, they cannot be purchased in the UK (if you know where, tell me!), so I guess this gives me a great excuse to return to Sweden to get more!
