Advantages: Tastes great.
Disadvantages: They're gone too soon.
These are my absolute favourite treats at the moment. They are so unique being not your usual milk or dark chocolate but not as sickly sweet as most white chocolates.
Appearances first. The Raffaello's are small spheres, about the size of a ferrero rocher (and are also made by ferrero actually). They are snowy white and coated with coconut. This makes them look fluffy and delicious, and gives them a delicious scent as soon as you open the box. Unfortunately it also means that they're a bit messy as flakes of coconut have a tendency to drop off en route from the box to your mouth.
In terms of taste these are just gorgeous. First you get the tropically coconut taste and then you bite through the thin wafer to the sweet, smooth white praline within. In the very centre is a blanched almond. You can either pop a whole one into your mouth and enjoy all the flavours together, or nibble at in daintily to taste first the coconut, then the praline and then finally the nut. Either way they're delicious!
Because they are separated into the perfect bite size chunks, and the flavour is so rich and well balanced I find that one or at most two is enough in one sitting. They definitely feel decadent enough to be a whole dessert.
Definitely recommend these for a change from your usual boxed chocolates!
Summary: Buy them, eat them
