Fox's Rocky Bar
Advantages: Tastes really nice, good biscuit and chocolate combination, crunchy, small and compact
Disadvantages: Quite a lot of fat, calories if you treat them as biscuits and have more than one
The rocky bar is a small chocolate bar from Fox's Biscuits, which some may also consider to be a large chocolate biscuit.
You can buy these in multipacks, and I currently have a pack containing 9 bars as this is on offer in Tesco. I don't think you can buy the bars individually, or not so far as I have ever noticed.
This bar is about a finger length so much smaller than the likes of a mars or twix bar. It is comparable to a penguin or club bar. I think this small size makes the Rockys handy to take out with you for a snack occasionally or put in a child's lunch box from time to time. They are also well suited to have at home, and are really nice with a cup of tea or coffee and I think they feel like more of a treat than a normal biscuit!
The Rockys are coated with smooth milk chocolate. It is quite a thick layer of chocolate and gives a strong chocolate taste - it is not just a thin and barely noticeable layer. Inside there is a substantial amount of crunchy biscuit which is very flavoursome and not boring and bland like some biscuits can be. The two textures and two flavours work well together to make a classic chocolate biscuit taste.
As they are quite small, they also have fewer calories than most chocolate bars and each one has 107 calories. However if you treat them as a biscuit and have a few, they won't be a healthy option obviously. They are quite more ish so you could easily eat more than one at a time, and I have done this before! Also one biscuit contains 8% of your daily fat, so that is quite a lot especially if you do eat more than one in a day!
However despite that for the occasional treat I do really like these and would definitely get them again.
It is worth pointing out that they may contain nuts and do include cows milk, wheat, gluten and oats so should be avoided by anyone with allergies to these, but otherwise why not give them a try while they're on offer in Tesco. A pack of 9 was about a £1 but I can't remember the exact price.
Summary: Lovely treat that tastes great
