Too sickly for me
Member Name: Ninski1
Advantages: Chocolate fix for those with a very sweet tooth
I go through phases where I love chocolate, others where the very thought of it makes me feel sickly. The other day at work I purchased a 46g bar of Galaxy Smooth Milk chocolate from the vending machine, for 70p, lucky for me 2 bars came out, so my husband ate the other one.
The bar comes in a brown easy to tear plastic wrapper, the chocolate inside is a whole piece but with grooves so you can snap a bit off. The nutritional information is for 100gs is:
* 544 kcal (26% of your daily allowance)
* 32.5g fat (42%of your daily allowance)
* 6.6g protein
* 56.1g carbs
The ingredients are Sugar, cocoa ingredients (cocoa butter, cocoa mass) skimmed milk powder, milk fat, lactose, vegetable fat, emulsifier (soya lecithin), natural vanilla extract, traces of gluten.
It is 14% minimum milk chocolate solids and 25% cocoa solids and is suitable for vegetarians, which is good as I am one.
Wow, after listing all the ingredients and nutritional information I am glad I only ate two pieces.
The product is made by Mars, and on the packet is a Rainforest Alliance Certified Logo which means that the cocoa used in the chocolate bar is traceable from the farm into the Mars factory and that Mars aim to improve the livelihood of the farmers and their communities, protect the environment and also protect the wildlife around them. This is good, as I think that we all need to take greater responsibility for the products we buy and the way we live our lives.
Now does it taste any good? Well I must be going through a not liking chocolate phase as it was just too sickly for me. I did not get much of a chocolate hit off the bar when I opened it. I ate the first piece and thought that it was smooth and very creamy, which was pleasant, as it was melting it was quite thick and sticks in your mouth for a while, so I had another piece and that was enough, it was just too rich and creamy for me. I was disappointed, really should have just had a chocolate biscuit. Anyway I am not sure if to recommend this is not, as my taste experience was not that good, what I would say is that for people that love rich, creamy chocolate, this would be a must try product, for those less inclined to feel sick, I would suggest an alternative product, my husband would disagree as he thought it was great with his cup of coffee, hay ho, the world would be a very dull place if we all liked the same things.
Summary: There are better bars on the market
