Advantages: tastes sooo good, good value
Disadvantages: unhealthy, very moreish
Galaxy is by far my favourite chocolate and everybody knows it, it's always a present given to me by someone who cant think of anything to give me. Its never badly recieved.
If ever i have a little spare change to get something sweet i go for Galaxy and no little bars for me, I like the big ones (calm your dirty minds).
Galaxy is different to most other chocolates in its shape, its slightly curved. This is said to make a difference to the taste, I don't know if it does but it is the best tasting chocolate I've ever had. Its quite creamy, I like to suck it as it melts in my mouth rather than bite into it. I find it to be very moreish, I've got it to top cakes before and thought "Ok well before I top the cake I'll just have a line" (a square just doesn't cut it) and then 5 minutes later "Maybe one more line". It's definitly my weakness and I thank God for my fast metabolism each time I give in to my weakness!
I've also used Galaxy to melt and spread on top of cakes (tastes great but you need a lot of willpower to not eat it/lick lots of it off the knife you're using to spread it on cakes). I've also used it to make rice krispie cakes. I've had lots of good comments on my Galaxy rice krispie cakes, one of my friends thinks I should sell them haha. If you are intending to make rice krispie cakes with them my one advice would be go easy on the chocolate, I once was very generous with the chocolate, too much infact. I retrieved a cooled Galaxy rice kripsie cake out of the fridge and upon biting into it almost broke a tooth!
Like all chocolates Galaxy can be a bit sickly after eating too much. However I with my sweet tooth have stronger resistant than others (I think so anyway!) I can easily munch through one of the 120g bars without feeling sick.
Galaxy throughout the years have come up with many variations to their brand. My favourites of these are bubbles (quite like a galaxy version of aero) and caramel. Others include cookie crumble and hazlenut.
I think Galaxy is quite a decent valued chocolate bar, its certaintly nowhere near as expensive as Lindt for example.
You can currently pick up a bar of Galaxy in tesco for:
114g bar- £1
200g bar- £2.09
390g- £3.65
Its worth noting that there are often deals on these bars, I've one bought a 390g bar for £2...that was a very happy day for me!
Summary: A delicious chocolate bar that won't hurt your wallet.
