Advantages: Smooth, creamy milk chocolate.
Disadvantages: Many calories.
You seem to be able to get Galaxy varieties of so many products these days: Galaxy hot chocolate, Galaxy chocolate milk, McVitie's Galaxy cake, Galaxy mini-muffins...the list grows ever longer. Just give me a traditional bar of Galaxy and I'm happy, thanks. Currently £1 for a 114g bar in my Tesco Local. (24/08/13)
I treated myself.

Experience of the product:
It's not surprising so many products strive to add that Galaxy flavour - it's a very distinctive chocolate. It is chocolately, yes - but it has its own special 'Galaxy' flavour. It tastes rich, sweet and creamy. And it has an underlying melt-in-the-mouth, milky smoothness which makes it a personal favourite.
But it's true what the advert says about this chocolate - at least in our house - you do have to hide a bar if you want to keep it for yourself. I thought I'd hidden mine very well between a couple of Tom Clancy's in the bookshelf - obviously not - there is far less of it this morning than there was last night.
Oh well, perhaps someone was trying to save me from myself - there are rather a lot of calories in this. In fact per 100g there are 544kcal. Quite a few calories need to be worked off if you sit and scoff an entire bar.
The figures for one piece of chocolate - if you are someone with more self restraint than myself - make easier reading: One piece contains (3.8g) Calories 21kcal 1%*, Sugars 2.1g 2%, Fat 1.2g 2%, Saturates 0.7g 4%, Salt 0.01g <1%

I don't know of a chocolate that gives such a silky, smooth eating experience. It's incredibly moreish. I like to eat it best straight from the fridge. Unfortunately, the fridge is not a good hiding place.
To make this treat food go further (if I'm feeling generous) I melt a bar down to cover the tops of homemade chocolate muffins. If you add a sharper flavoured chocolate to the muffins, the smooth, creamy Galaxy topping makes a really nice contrast. Delicious.
