If you haven't read my previous reviews on the chocolates I purchased recently from Hotel Chocolat...shame on you! If you have you will know that after reviewing the first two I brought, this is the third and last tray of chocolates I have to review, good for you yes, but it means I have no lovely chocolate left! BOO HOO!

The product I will now review is - "Chilli truffles - Hotel Chocolate".

I have been thinking about trying these for ages, but was unsure as I am not the biggest fan of all things spicy, though I am not a korma girl I will never be a vindaloo girl! So the idea of chocolate and chilli has always fascinated me.

After deciding to buy these truffles I was secretly pleased that at least my "first time" with this so -called spicy delight would be an extravagant affair! God I make it sound more like an affair than a tray of chocolates!

The packaging is the same as the previously reviewed trays, a plastic tray with 6 vacuum pulled holes to hold the truffles, surrounded by semi clear plastic wrap, on which is all the relevant information you would expect.

These particular truffles are small dark chocolate balls, smooth in appearance and smelling bitter sweet before you even pop one in your mouth.

Before I changed my mind I stuck one in my mouth and waited for the burn........ok the smoulder.......a bit of warmth maybe, but there wasn't any, I have to say I was little disappointed.
After reading up on the product it states that this should bring a little mouth warmth after being sucked slowly, the only so called warmth I "got" was the slight edge from the small amount of alcohol content in the chocolates, though in fairness these were delicious, albeit a bit of an anti-climax.

The chocolate itself is delicious, creamy and slightly bitter, with the sweet creamy truffle centre offsetting the flavour perfectly for a delicious chocolate treat.

Price wise these are available for £3.00 a tray or if you buy 4 trays the price reduces down to £10.00, saving you £2.00.
