Master cholatiers since 1845.
The product I am going to review is Lindt Lindor Milk Chocolate Bar. Created by Lindt & Sprungli. The history of this brand began in 1845 in Zurich where a confectioner David Sprungli-Schwarz and his son Rudolf Sprungli-Ammann and a small pastry shop. They decided to make bars of chocolate which became popular and they relocated to a factory within 2years. After his father died in 1862, Rudolf decided to continue on with the family business. He handed over the reigns to his sons David Robert and Johann in 1892 and 1898. The company changed name to Chocolat Sprungli AG in 1898. The factory is to date, still located on the banks of Lake Zurich. In 1899 they joined a Berne chocolate factory with owner Rodolpe Lindt hence the name.
So enough about the history..lets talk about the chocolate!!
A bar of milk chocolate with a smooth melting filling.
The bar of chocolate is marked into fairly large pieces and the bar is then wrapped in silver foil embellished with the Lindt logo. The wrapped bar is then enclosed in a red cardboard box type packaging. The front of the box has the famous Lindt logo, a picture of the chocolate, a white flower type design across the packaging and it tells us that it is milk chocolate. The rear of the box has ingredient and company information in English, French and Austrian. No nutritional information is provided.

Lindt chocolate bars are available in supermarkets and stores such as Wilkinsons. There is a standard 150g bar and currently costs £1.27 in Asda. Other types are available including dark chocolate and Lindt also have a range of other chocolates and boxed chocolates.
Every year at Christmas, I am over the moon if hubby buys me a box of the Lindor Truffles as they are to me, only for special occasions due to being so sweet and indulgent and not to mention expensive! It wasn't until I came across a review on Dooyoo (thanks) that I knew about these. I was intrigued and had to give it a try!
So shopping in Asda the other day, I approached the boxed sweets section and couldn't see the Lindor bars but they were on the top shelf! I picked the milk chocolate one up and put it in my trolley. Being £1.27 I was impressed with the price as compared to Galaxy and Dairy Milk this promotes excellent quality and price gram for gram. So I got home and opened the foil wrapper very carefully, it looked too pretty to just tear open though I had to eventually! The chocolate itself looked very premium and you can see alot of work has went into creating it. The smell was very milky. The pieces were a little larger than I expected though I broke one off and you could see the truffle filling inside though this is not runny enough that it oozes out when you break a piece.
I placed my piece to my mouth and breathed in the indulgence. To be honest I was rather disappointed at first, it didn't taste as premium as I thought it would be and after 2 pieces I felt sick and had a weird taste in my mouth which frankly wasn't very pleasant. I can't fully blame the chocolate though, it was my birthday and I had been eating junk all day and I feel I had simply over indulged and could not appreciate Lindts passion enough. So I wrapped the bar up and sat it in my cupboard til the next day.
The chocolate was still fresh and still smelled divine when I unwrapped the foil on the second day. As before I put a piece in my mouth and was overwhelmed with indulgence. I really enjoyed my second round with this wonderful chocolate bar. Despite having a new found love for this chocolatey treat, my preference is still the truffles..
Overall I would highly recommend this chocolate bar but to be saved for treats and special occasions as it is very sweet, very chocolatey and you cannot really eat more than 3 pieces without feeling like you are going to be sick as it is very rich and flavoursome.
Summary: NOT AS GOOD AS THE TRUFFLES
