Disadvantages: So addictive to munch on
If you are on a diet like me please do not buy anything bigger than the regular size packet because if you buy anything bigger they will vanish in a split second before you even realise you've eaten them all. This happened to me, true story. They are just sooo addictive and delicious and totally more-ish! I actually didn't like the taste of M&M's until a year or so ago. My tastebuds must have woken up one day and changed their way of thinking because now I am in love with M&Ms!
My favourite without doubt are the peanut and milk chocolate variety. They come in a yellow packet with the M&M characters on the front. In each packet you will find 17/18 chocolates inside. M&M's are created by taking a peanut, coating it in a layer of milk chocolate and encasing the two in a crispy, crunchy sugar shell. The shells come in different colours including red, brown, blue, green and yellow.
In your local shop you will find the standard size bags (45g) for around £1 (although right now they on the Asda website at 3 for £1). Asda often have the share size bags on offer for £1 too, a large pouch (315g) is currently £2.
I was recently lucky enough to go to M&M world in Las Vegas which was fantastic but torture because I wanted to buy/eat everything! Some of the store clerks were handing out free samples and I was able to try raspberry and mint m&ms. I knew before I'd even put the raspberry ones in my mouth that I wasn't going to like them, I just don't like berry and chocolate mixed. However my prediction of loving the mint ones was correct they were yummy and just the right minty-ness. I have noticed they sell the mint M&M's in England now so really worth a try.
Since M&M's have been around since the 1940's (!) I have no doubt they will be here for a good while to come. To summarise M&M's are crunchy, crispy, chocolate, nutty little balls of deliciousness and probably my all time favourite sweet.
