"Nay lad, you can't buy a box of chocolates for sixpenc3e! But you can but a bag. New Revels!"
This (so swears my uncle) was one of the first adverts for Revels, the box of chocolates in a bag, combining a handful of different varieties in one small brown and yellow bag.
Some of them are easier to distinguish that the others. Malteasers are always easy to dig out - they're rounder, and more regularly shaped than the others. Similarly the flattish shape of the pure chocolate one is easy to identify. After that though, it rapidly becomes a mystery. The toffee (a lovely hard toffee you can scrape the chocolate off with your teeth), coffee cream (yuck), orange cream (only slightly less yuck) and chocolate covered raisins all look alike. They've even made adverts about this, creating mock gameshows where people have to choose a chocolate that might be (horror of horrors) coffee.
What I don't get is, if they know no-one likes orange and coffee creams, why even include them in the bag? Why make me play Russian roulette, carefully biting the things in half lest I should accidently get a mouthful of yucky coffee or oversweet orange? Why not just create orange and coffee free bags?
It is a mystery. But if you actually WANT to risk coming up with a coffee cream, while you can't even get a bag of chocolates for sixpence anymore, most newsagents sell them for about 45p.
Summary: All right if you don't might guesswork with your chocolate
