** Revels **

I have many fond memories of Revels ever since my dad used to take me to the pictures as a child and he would smuggle a big bag of Revels in with us to munch while watching the screen. Somehow that excitement about revels never left me and I still get twangs of nostalgia as well of pangs from my sweet tooth when I see a bag on sale. Every once in a while I give in to temptation and put a bag of Revels in my basket. A small one if I'm doing some solitary munching or a bigger bag if it is for sharing with my girlfriend or the family.

Regardless of the bag size Revels contain the same mix of chocolate covered sweets with a selection of centres. All of the sweets bar one are roughly spherical in shape, the exception being a disc shaped sweet with a solid Mars milk chocolate centre.

The spherical sweets are all milk chocolate on the outside and the following centres:

Toffee. Toffee is my favourite Revel it is really chewy and mouth watering and I could eat a bag of just the toffee ones if such a thing existed!

Coffee. I like the coffee ones but they are one of my least favourite flavours. Originally like when I was young and at the cinema with my dad -there were coconut centre Revels that reminded me of Bounty bars. They were great but at some point Mars replaced the coconut Revel with the coffee one which I think was a mistake.

Orange. Orange flavour Revels are very nice. The orange taste really compliments the chocolate.

Raisin. I love raisins covered in chocolate even though they replaced the original peanut centre Revels. They should still have peanut Revels too though I think.

Briefly for a limited time there were also strawberry Revels too but I didn't like those so am glad they didn't last.

** In conclusion **

There have been some changes to Revels over the years not all of them good ones. They are still a great selection of sweets in one bag and everybody in the house is likely to have a favourite Revel. These sweets still have a nostalgic effect on me too which colours my view of Revels but not only those far away days are gone, some of the flavours are too.

Thanks for reading my review.

Summary: Still a good choice of chocolate sweets but not as good as they were
