Advantages: Tasty, Different flavoured choclates
Disadvantages: Smaller bags a bit pricey (for chocolate)
As well as coming in bars, there are also lots of chocolates available in bags or packets; these include such chocolates as Maltesers, Munchies, and Minstrels. Whilst I enjoy all of these various types of chocolate, I would have to say that one of my favourite types of chocolates that come in bags would have to be Revels.
One of the reasons why I like these so much (not just because they're delicious!), but they come in a variety of flavours and types. According to the wrapper, there are six types of chocolates inside, ranging from Orange and Coffee cremes, to peanuts and Maltesers. All of them are quite nice, but I do have preferences as to my favourite one, as you'll see below.
The following chocolates can be found in every bag, and I've rated each one according to my own preference:
Maltesers: A well known chocolate in it's own right, nice honeycomb filling and texture. Most people will have had these before, so know what they're like. Rating: 7/10
Coffee: Very tasty creme filling, quite soft and has quite a strong coffee flavour. Probably one of the nicest choclates in the Revels. Rating: 8/10
Caramel: Quite a nice texture, but the caramel inside is a bit hard and chewy. Nice flavour, but also a bit sweet. Rating: 6/10
Peanut: Quite simple, just a peanut coated in choclate. Fairly tasty, but a bit sweet like the caramel. Has quite a firm texture. Again, probably one of my least favourites. Rating: 6/10
Chocolate: Very similar to Minstrels, especially in shape, only softer with no crisp coating. Quite nice, and a bit basic but still tasty. Rating: 7/10
Orange: Similar to the Coffee Revel above, only this one is orange filled, and has a nice tangy taste and soft texture. Rating: 8/10
Obviously other people will have their own preferences if they've tried Revels before, but that's my opinion on them. Revels are made by Mars, and provide the following nutriti
on per 100g:
Nutritional Information:-
Energy: 2058 KJ/491 Kcal
Protein: 6.1g
Carbohydrate: 65.1g
Fat: 22.9g
Ingredients of Revels:-
Milk Chocolate, sugar, peanuts, glucose syrup, sweetened condensed skimmed milk, hydrogenated vegetable fat, malt extract, skimmed milk powder, dextrose, fructose, pectin, wheat flour, modified starch, salt, invertase, maltose, flavourings, citric acid, whey powder, raising agent, acidity regulator, colours.
Revels come in larger 175g bags that cost around £1.39 per bag, and also available smaller 35g bags that cost a 40p each.
My overall opinion of Revels are that they are nice chocolates, and the variety of flavours in each bag means you are bound to have a favourite. If you have not tried these yet, then I would recommend that you do, especially if you love chocolate, as Revels are very tasty and a bit different to other chocolates that come in variety bags like these.
