I am terrible for wanting to try new products as soon as they are launched especially if it is something of the tasty, sweet variety. So when I spotted the McVites Medley bars I decided that I had to try them. They are a cross between a cereal bar and a biscuit bar so I thought they would make an ideal mid-morning snack when at work. The McVites Medley bars were originally launched in three different varieties: Digestive Hobnob Rich Tea I opted to purchase the Digestive variety as I do quite enjoy the nice wheat taste from the biscuits. The bars consist of a mix of biscuit chunks and cereal with hazelnuts and a milk chocolate base. I ... Read the complete review

I went into Sainsburys a few weeks ago looking for Belvita breakfast bars but as I was in a rush and couldn't find them so spotting these on offer for £1 a box, I grabbed a box as they sounded nice. My review is going to concentrate exclusively on the digestive -based bars that contain chocolate and hazelnut as they are the only ones that I've tried. WHY I BOUGHT THEM I'm always hungry at work and would find myself regularly eating crisps, a chocolate bar and sometimes other snacks all by lunchtime. My hunt for the Belvita biscuits was inspired by my desire to find something to fill me up more. When I couldn't find those, I wasn't too disappointed to see ... Read the complete review

I always take a cereal bar to work with me and can munch on it as I like during the day. Last week during my weekly shop in Tesco, I was about to pick up my usual choice of cereal bar, when I noticed something new on the shelves that was also on offer. My local Tesco have only started stocking these McVitie's Medley Digestives, and they are currently selling them for £1 for a pack of 6 bars. Now, I know they may have been available elsewhere for a while, but they were certainly unfamiliar to me, and so I decided that it was a good price and worth a try. This McVitie's range of cereal bars come in a choice of three flavours: McVitie;s Hobnobs with Raisins ... Read the complete review

I just came across these bars last week, and as we were going away for a few days and wanting to eat cheaply while staying in a hotel i packed a box to keep us going. Apparently they were newly released in June, and there are three varieties to choose between. HobNobs, Raisins & Milk chocolate, Hobnobs, Peanuts & Milk chocolate chip and Digestives, Hazelnuts & Milk chocolate, both with a recommended retail price of 39p. I got a box with 6 of them, and i am not sure what i paid, but again, the RRP is £1.69. Because they had the hobnob brand i had high expectations for an oaty and extremely tasty snack. So what did i find? I had picked up ... Read the complete review

I came across these in Sainsbury's a few days ago on offer at £1 so I thought I'd give them a go. I hadn't really noticed them before but I like cereal bars and McVities usually do a good job with their snacks, so I didn't think you could go far wrong with them. They're actually pretty nice, especially at that price! McVities Medley Digestives come in a box of 6 that's golden yellow in colour. Each bar is individually wrapped so they're good for eating on the go or popping into a lunchbox as they're kept fresh. They're described as 'biscuit chunks combined with cereals', and the variety/flavour I bought was caramel and milk chocolate. I believe they also come ... Read the complete review
