McVitie's Medley Bars
Advantages: Tastes like a dgestive, carmel and chocolate biccie!
Disadvantages: Little hard on the teeth
Just recently I have been trying to eat healthier. I'm looking more at calorific details and fat contents and although I try to avoid sweet things sometimes I just need something so I bought these!
So I bought these the other day costing £1.00 a box in offer in Asda and the ones that I have been eating and thefore reviewing is the Mcvities Meldey Digestives in the Caramel & Milk Chocolate option.
These come in a bright yellow box with a picture of one of the digestive bars on the front of it and we are told what they are and who they are by and that there are 6 bars in my box and that they contain no artificial colours or flavours and no hydrogenated vegetable oil and an at a glance nutritional chart. Other information on the box includes being told a bit about the product and the manufacturer, ingredients and allergy advice is given as well as a full nutritional chat, the size is given which is 6 x 30g and contact details for Mcvities are given. The bars are all invidually wrapped with much the same information given on them as the outer box.
Well the bars are long and oblong and rather think in size. To the base of the bar there is a thin layer of milk chocolate coating and them you get crunchy rolled oats with flour that creates a nice digestive flavour biscuit and then on the top there is alight beige drizzle of caramel all over ot.
These are really nice, crunchy, the milk chocolate isn't thick but does adds a creamy touch and the caramel adds a rich creamy taste to the biscuit. I really like these, they have a natural sweetness to them and they are quite filling and I love em as either a breakfast bar or as a snack with a cuppa. They are a bit hard in texture but are chewy and I will be buying them in the future for sure!
Nutritional Information Per Bar:
Available in a variety of different flavours and if not on offer retail around the £1.50 mark for 6 barsx
Summary: Lovely and I'm a bit addicted to them!
