Advantages: tastes delicious
Disadvantages: very chewy
I picked up a packet of these last week in sainsburys for £1 and they are absolutely addicctive! They are the typical hobnob variety biscuit, covered with a layer of milk chocolate and extremely moreish...
- The Brand -
Hobnobs are part of the McVities brand of biscuits which originates in Scotland and started in 1985.
- The packaging -
Opposed to the one in the picture, they actually come nowadays in a packet rather than a tin. They still have the same blue covering, with a more funky font design showering a splatter design across the packet. If we eat half of them we usually twist the end of the packet to try and seal the biscuits so they don't go soft, would be ideal if the packaging had a resealable covering...not that we eat them and leave half for later anyway, we usually scoff them in one go! But the possibility would be beneficial :)
- The Biscuit -
Made predominately from oats, but a thick, generous coating on top of the biscuit. The chocolate is quite sweet, but too sickly sweet so as to still be enjoyable, and the biscuit underneath still has the same quality of a traditional hobnob. These are amazing on their own, and a great accompany for dunking in tea (which my partner loves but I loathe) so we go through these in one sitting in about 10 minutes! There is a lot of crunching involved though so those who have sensitive gums or who like me have a painful wisdom tooth may get annoyed! But they are so nice I still continue eating them through the pain.
Ingredients:
30% Rolled Oats
24% milk chocolate
Dried Milk, Dried Whey, Butter oil, Vegetable fat, Natural Flavouring, wholemeat wheat flavouring, raising agents, fructose syrups and Emulsifiers.
Overall I would definitely recommend them!
Summary: a lovely biscuit
