McVities chocolate digestives are one of my all time favourite biscuits and I was given a pack of their limited edition chocolate and orange digestives so i couldn't wait to try them. McVitie's digestive was originally developed by 2 Scottish doctors way back in 1839 as an aid for digestion. The 'digestive' effect is thanks to the large amount of bicarbonate of soda the biscuits contain as this acts as an antacid.
