Milka Alpine Sunrise is a limited edition block of chocolate from Swiss company Milka. Generally it's not available in the UK and is instead intended for a Central European market but thanks to e-bay, this chocolate is available just about everywhere and at a relatively cheap cost too.

Milka chocolate is rather milky and doesn't have the cocoa content of say Cadbury's or many other brands of chocolate. My wife claims that it has a bit of a bitter taste but I think it's extremely smooth. The block of Alpine Sunrise is 100g and 25g has 145kcals in it. Where this chocolate differentiates from your average strawberry chocolate is that it doesn't have strawberry cream or a gel like substance inside the individual blocks of chocolate but it instead has a milky chocolate cream with little strawberry flavoured sugary crystal like pieces sneaked into the cream.

The flavour of the strawberry comes through quite strongly, personally I found it to be an innovative idea and like nothing I've tried before but my wife wasn't overly keen on it. I guess it's very much a matter of taste and if you enjoy strawberry cream in chocolate, you may be disappointed but if you are like me and are not overly keen on it, then this will come as a pleasant bit of strawberry relief!
